A little about your hosts, Anne and John Mackay:

We want to share our home with you!

We dont mind short notice.

We have spent our lives in large scale farming and forestry and are now enjoying our idyllic lifestyle in this tranquil and picturesque area.   We are fit and active, in late 60's and early 70's.   All our adult family live overseas so this give us the excuse to travel frequently.  We enjoy learning about other cultures and countries.   We have both been interested in horticultural pursuits all our lives and can now indulge our love of plants and gardening.   We both enjoy reading and antiques.   Anne is a floral designer and is involved both nationally and internationally with floral art and flower arranging organizations.

We are both members of the International Dendrology Society (trees).

We live in a very picturesque and tranquil area and enjoy sharing it with our guests.

The garden is some 2 hectares, (5 acres) and has been developed from a bare hillside since we shifted here 14 years ago.   It is still a work in progress!   We have collected a wide range of our favourite trees, plants and perennials.   Some we have grown ourselves.
Favourites include Rhododendrons, azaleas, maples, cherries, Abies, daffodils and trees with good autumn colours.   There are paths throughout the garden and seats to tempt one to linger and enjoy.
